Criminon is a secular social betterment program implementing criminal reform methods developed by L. Ron Hubbard to bring about true rehabilitation of criminals. It is a separate and autonomous charitable program that is independent of the Church of Scientology. It is supported by Scientologists.
f recent incarceration rates remain unchanged, it has been estimated that a shocking one out of 20 persons in the United States will serve time in prison sometime in their life. Simply by being born, nearly one in three black males are expected to serve time.
The situation is not confined to the United States. The most recent United Nations World Crime Survey, which monitors 70 countries, found increasing rates of homicide, rape, embezzlement and assault.
More spending. More prisons. More crime. Where do we go from here?
The Criminon program, whose name means no crime, was established to eradicate crime by eliminating those factors which produce and precipitate criminal behavior. The program is based on the writings and research of L. Ron Hubbard, in particular the non-religious moral code The Way to Happiness.
Currently delivered to prisoners in more than 750 prisons and detention centers across the world, Criminon is comprised of a series of courses. The program enables inmates to realize why their past conduct led to harm and why ethical conduct will lead to success and happiness in the future. Remarkably, the Criminon program makes it possible for offenders to slough off the criminal mentality on their own determinism.
