In France, Ambassadors for a World Without Drugs sponsor a wide range of community events in cities throughout the nation. In Lyons, Marseilles, Bordeaux, Nice and Paris, thousands of school children, teenagers and adults have vowed to stay off drugs and to encourage their friends and family to do the same. In Germany, Drug-Free Kids hold regular events, pass out thousands of leaflets informing people of the dangers of drugs and encourage children and adults to take the drug-free pledge. The Guardians for a Life Without Drugs in Switzerland have held anti-drug rallies and published and broadly distributed fliers and a booklet which provide factual information about the dangers of drugs. Drug-Free Sheriffs in Belgium and Drug-Free Youth in Denmark hold events and swear in hundreds of school children at a time. In South Africa, thousands of school children have signed up as Drug-Free Marshals. In Australia, the Drug-Free Ambassadors paint murals at train stations to promote drug-free life. Drug-Free Marshals are part of the larger anti-drug crusade sponsored by the Church which was begun in response to the international drug crisis. Among these are the Lead the Way to a Drug-Free USA campaign, and the Say No to Drugs campaign in other nations from Mexico to New Zealand. The purpose of the volunteer, grassroots campaign is to raise public awareness about the dangers of drugs and to broadly promote the benefits of drug-free living. To that end, Scientologists working together with community leaders, celebrities, and others equally concerned about the drug problem, have staged public awareness forums, anti-drug concerts and educational conferences which have reached millions of people.
